a mark of resistance

The new video for a mark of resistance (radio edit) taken from the album absent origin, by Mira Calix uses a vast archive of historical imagery, combined with images taken from her own social media accounts, to create a collage that echoes the way the track was assembled – fragments move at speed, barely repeating, but with them and in them rhythms are forged

Art historical images are spliced with adverts and news footage to make an endless network of connections between the way images are constructed and how men dominate the power dynamic of our visual world.
